Mont Nicolle School is a caring and friendly school which prides itself on enabling children to flourish and achieve high standards across all areas of learning. Our collective Core Values underpin everything that we do as a community, staff, children and parents....
We are a Level 1 Rights Respecting School and through the school the children learn about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
We work in partnership with other schools in Jersey as part of our Tri-Ouest group of schools. This includes Les Landes and St. Mary's Schools.
We are an outward looking school and we challenge ourselves to be the best we can be. We work in partnership with two outstanding schools in the UK. Newport School in London and Parkfield School in Birmingham.
We work with Mifumi School in Uganda. This helps us learn about life and schooling in this part of Africa, and the challenges and rewards that this brings.
We have introduced a new approach to Maths teaching this year called 'Maths-No Problem'. It is based on Singapore maths teaching and focuses on fluency and mathematical reasoning.
We teach core skills in reading and writing using Read, Write Inc. We believe this approach enables our children to learn to read quickly and effectively, so they use their reading skills to help them learn across the curriculum.
We are working with Caring Cooks Jersey to develop our school garden and develop cookery and greater awareness of healthy eating.
We are looking forward to hearing all about the Year 6 French trip!

Y5 had a very special visitor to class today. Mr Corbett spoke to us about his childhood during the war in occupied Jersey. It was amazing!
